Area I: Assess Needs, Resources, and Capacity for Health Education/Promotion

A research paper examining sleep deprivation in college students and the relationship to health theories and models.

A research paper examining the environmental justice issues associated with Exon in Vernon

A survey collected to determine the needs and knowledge of college students on meningitis.

Highlighting the disparity between black and non-black infant mortality rates (IMR) in the US and worldwide, I wrote an epidemiological paper on the country with the highest rates of IMR globally in 2018: the Democratic Republic of Congo. â€‹

A hypothetical program called S.A.F.E. (Seniors acting on fire emergencies) and highlights fire emergency preparedness among seniors over 65 years of age.

This PowerPoint was tailored to a Latino community for an educational presentation on obesity.

This document is part of a health education curriculum about meningitis that was made for college students.

​Area IV: Conduct Evaluation and Research Related to Health Education/Promotion

This is a grant proposal written for my evaluation and measurement class. The topic of the paper is bullying programs' success and the need for a creation of a bullying prevention program for elementary school kids. 

​Area V: Administer and Manage Health Education/Promotion

In an effort to expand my leadership skills, I completed the Leadership Academy and Emerging Leaders program. Aside from having select leadership roles in group projects, I also took the lead for community organization recruitment, focus group scheduling, survey entry, and the social media page for my research job.

Area VI: Serve as a Health Education/Promotion Resource Person

By joining the Wellness Warriors volunteer program, I served as a resource person engaging healthier behaviors and practices among college students. I provided assistance in tabling and outreach events for flu clinics, health and safety fair, nutrition, sleep, stress management, and other events. I provided direction for resources available on campus to students for health concerns or redirected them to the proper person.
